What are you looking for on a parenting web site?

Question:
I’m a stay at home mom, currently pregnant with my fourth child. I freelance in editing. I try to keep my skills up-to-date with a web site I’ve published and I’m constantly on the look-out for tips to make it successful. I’m doing OK with promotion and advertising right now. What can I add to make it really stand out and how do I draw attention to my mailing list?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
But, how do I draw special attention to the mailing list? I need to bring people back each month after updates and new articles have been added.

Parenting: Kids and Lying

Parenting: Kids and Lying – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Lying is one of those really funny things. Toddlers lie because they do not really understand the difference between lying and the truth. As our kids get older, we do have to always role model the truth. We have to be people who speak the truth and are honest ourselves. We need to look for stories and for examples and for opportunities to teach our kids about the truth versus lying and show them the differences between telling the truth and telling a lie. We need to thank our children for their honesty when we catch them being honest, we need to reward them for that. And finally, we need to explain that lying, almost always will cause more problems. Whereas the truth, never causes a problem and we need to role model that and encourage our kids to do the same.

Parenting advice? Please help! I don’t want to raise a brat.. Or worse!!!?

Question:
If you would like a little background you can read my questions from earlier:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ar.KHzm7gUah5.DY3t7.g1rsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091111094233AAzSE8Z

And if you don’t want to read my venting novels from earlier et me put it this way: I wasn’t exactly raised to be a good parent. My own parents were less than great and I was allowed to do pretty much whatever I wanted. Some days I really resent my parents for the things I was taught (and mostly WASN’T taught) and I never want to be like them with my son. He is only 7 months old but I know I can never start too early. I wake up every morning and tell myself to not be like my parents raised me to be.

If you DID read my previous questions, thank you. You must be terribly bored! :-)

So my question is this:
What are some of the best parenting tips you were told that have worked for you and your family?
Do you know of any great parenting books that I can read?
Anything is greatly appreciated!!!

Parenting: How to be a Fair Parent

Parenting: Raising Adopted Children – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Hi, I am Dr. Laura Markham of ahaparenting.com How can you be a fair parent to your own birth child and your own adopted child. And we might extend that to say “How can I be a fair parent to any children that I am raising?” Because we know the number one refrain from kids is “But that is not fair!” or “You love him more!”, right? So what can you do? You can tell your children that you could not possibly love anyone more than you love him. There is no one who is this child. There is no other “Sammy” in the world, there is no one who is exactly you. I love you uniquely because of all the wonderful things that you are. Who you are in my heart is a place that no one else could be. I have a big heart and I have plenty of room to have you in my heart and have your sister in my heart. And it does not matter whether you are my birth child or a child I chose to bring into the family. You are your unique, wonderful self and I love you uniquely for exactly who you are and there is no way I could ever love anyone more than you.
